Psycobach

Heavy metal Bach - Psycobach cover

Concerto for guitar, bass and drums in A minor. Maybe murder in A minor! Or if you read the lyrics of the song, “Murder by a minor”! We thought it would be good to introduce ourselves and our friends to some culture, so we went extra sacrilegious with this one! Listen to the complex magic of some of J.S. Bach’s famous melodies coupled with classic straight forward Motherfaster riffs! Also, Bach did a cover of his favorite baroque artist Antonio Vivaldi, which we featured in the solo section of the song. So, it’s Motherfaster covering Bach, who was covering Vivaldi!  Maestro will be turning in his grave! Here is a story of a total bastard that was abusing his wife and daughter, only to find a fitting end!

Ba-rock yourself out!

Also sorry for the cover too… We did that on purpose.

Short Bio:

Motherfaster formed after a jam session during the end of 2011. They are based in Athens with the common purpose to extract the dirtiest side of their souls and present it as an audio insult.

They recorded their debut in early 2014. George Emmanuel was the sound engineer and Jeffro Lackscheide mixed and mastered the album. In November 2014 Terrorizer magazine (Issue 254) featured the first single “The nymph and the god”, along with legendary metal bands Exodus and Obituary. The album was released on February 24, 2015.

In the summer of 2016, they covered Impaled Nazarene’s magnum opus “Blood is thicker than water”.

On December 2, 2019 they released the successor. Entitled “Slower Father”, it is recorded at Pentagram studio and George Emmanuel mixed and mastered it. Nine explicit, dirty stories gilded with a mix of heavy metal – hard rock music. Motherfaster’s second album is taking their signature sound one step further. Ruder, dirtier, heavier.

On January 25, 2020 they opened the Athenian show of metal pioneers Rotting Christ. During the following lockdown they recorded a cover version of Fleetwood Mac’s “The green Manalishi (With the two pronged crown)”.

In 2022 Motherfaster released a cover of “Anvil of Crom” and two long awaited original singles.

Anvil of Crom

Anvil of Crom cover

What do a hollywood film, a heavy metal band and a former governor of California have in common? The beautiful music of Basil Poledouris. Anvil of Crom was part of the soundtrack for the infamous movie “Conan the Barbarian”, starring Arnold Schwartzenegger and James Earl Jones. We took a bet against ourselves to do justice to this piece, using only our three instruments (Guitar, bass and drums), while retaining the power and the thunder of the original version. Anvil of Crom will be released officially on June 30, 2022.

The green Manalishi

(With the two pronged crown)

Motherfaster cover The green Manalishi

Lockdown has its perks! We motherfasterised “The green Manalishi (With the two pronged crown)”. The song was originally written and performed by Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac and also covered very successfuly by the METAL GODS Judas Priest. At first glance, it seems the song is about a weird love story, but it’s actually about the evil ways of money and how it can affect someone’s personality. We recorded the drums for this song back in 2016 (along with “Blood is thicker than water”), but did nothing with it. We took advantage of the extra time we have these days and recorded guitars, bass and vocals in our home studio. Mr. George Emmanuel mixed and mastered it and here we go!

Ladies and gents, we give you “The green Manalishi (With the two pronged crown)”!

Inanna Abused

The first single from our new album “Slower Father” is “Abused in the Garden of Love”. An explicit story from the dawn of civilization! An ancient Sumerian legend feauring Goddess Inanna inspired us for this one.

Single cover for Abused in the garden of love featuring Goddess Inanna

The young son of a farmer saw the Goddess sleeping under a tree, in the garden that he was supposed to work that day. Her beauty mesmerised him and he went for it… He undressed her and made love to her as she slept. When he was finished, he realised the foulness of his deed and fled the scene. Inanna did not wake up during the raping, because she was very tired, but when she woke up, she knew what had happened. She turned the whole kingdom upside down to find the guy and when she found him, she sealed his fate.

Some of the song’s lyrics are actually from the original poem, dating more than 5.000 years old! Also the single’s cover features the first genaration Sumerian symbol – letter for “woman” and “vagina”.

Lyrics:

I was heading for work in the gardens

But when I got there, the seedlings had failed

I was totally stroked by disaster

And once again by the sight of a solitary ghost

Oh, I should have gone away, but I was smitten by her

The sight, a marvel, as she slept

I felt like I was born again

I stepped a bit closer, my eyes fixed on her

Her vulva portrayed, how blessed I felt there

I gently undressed her, in loving despair

And I slipped in her womb

Yes, I came in her womb as she slept

Dog, pig! Her voice is piercing me

How did you dare to touch me against my will?

Dog, pig! So, you shall die before me

A farmer’s boy can’t rape his goddess and live

Oh, I should have gone away, but I was smitten by her

The sight, a marvel, as she slept

I felt like I was born again

Kamikaze Rider

Here is a fast one from our new album “Slower Father”. The 80’s/90’s Greek motorcycle riders (also known as Kamikaze) inspired us for “Kamikaze Rider” and we dedicate this song to them. God bless your reckless souls!

Kamikaze. The guys on motorcycles.

Lyrics:

I seek for the thrill, and find it I will

I’ll conquer this city with my horse of steel

The world is made of cowards, but I’m none of them

There is no tomorrow, I live for the day

I open the gas and I kick your ass

You’ll lose all your money, you’re not fast enough

Illegal drag racing in opposite lane

Danger approaching, front wheel in the air

Kamikaze rider, violence and agony

Kamikaze rider, I’m made of flesh, bones, leather and steel

Short Bio:

Motherfaster is the result of a bad idea, that its three creators had, after a jam session during the end of 2011.  They are based in Athens with the common purpose to extract the dirtiest side of their souls and present it as an audio insult.

After playing some gigs during 2012 – 2013, they took the request of their fans for an official release seriously. Consequently they hit the studio to create their self titled debut. George Emmanuel was the sound engineer and Jeffro Lackscheide mixed and mastered the album. In November 2014 Terrorizer magazine featured the first single “The nymph and the god” in the compilation CD Fear Candy, along with legendary metal bands Exodus and Obituary. They released the album on February 24, 2015.

In the summer of 2016, they covered Impaled Nazarene’s magnum opus “Blood is thicker than water”.

Finally, the time has come for the successor. Entitled “Slower Father”, it is recorded at Pentagram studio and mixing/mastering duties were handled by George Emmanuel. Nine explicit, dirty stories gilded with a mix of heavy metal – hard rock music. Motherfaster’s second album is taking their signature sound one step further. Ruder, dirtier, heavier.

They released the first single “Abused in the Garden of Love” on November 11 and “Slower Father”  on December 2, 2019.

Sinnerman cover

Motherfaster recorded a Sinnerman cover in their new album “Slower Father”.

Sinnerman cover song from Motherfaster's new album

“Sinnerman”, or “Sinner man” is an African-American traditional spiritual song, that has been performed by many artists. The lyrics describe a sinner attempting to hide from divine justice on judgement day. The song’s most famous version was made by the great Nina Simone. We poured some molten metal over it and here it is!

Lyrics:

Oh, sinnerman, where you gonna run to?
Sinnerman where you gonna run to?
Where you gonna run to?
All on that day
Well I run to the rock
Please hide me, I run to the rock
Please hide me Lord
All on that day
But the rock cried out
I can’t hide you, the rock cried out
I ain’t gonna hide you guy
All on that day
I said rock
What’s the matter with you rock?
Don’t you see I need you, rock?
Lord, Lord, Lord
All on that day
So I run to the river
It was bleedin’, I run to the sea… all on that day
So I run to the river
It was boilin’, I run to the sea… all on that day
So I run to the Lord
Please hide me, Lord
Don’t you see me prayin’?
Don’t you see me down here prayin’?
But the Lord said
Go to the Devil, the Lord said
Go to the Devil
He said go to the Devil
All on that day
So I ran to the Devil
He was waitin’, I ran to the Devil… all on that day

Well, I run to the river
It was boilin’, I run to the sea… all on that day
So I ran to the Lord
I said Lord, hide me
Please hide me
Please help me, all on that day
He said, child
Where were you?
When you oughta have been prayin’
I said Lord, Lord
Hear me prayin’, Lord, Lord… all on that day
Sinnerman, you oughta be prayin’
Outghta be prayin’, sinnerman
Oughta be prayin’, all on that day

“Slower Father” reviews (In Greek)

Rock Hard

Ο δίσκος σε προδιαθέτει ευχάριστα από το πρώτο κιόλας τραγούδι, το οποίο έχει μια έντονη αίσθηση άγριας δύσης για να δώσει την θέση του στο «Abused in the garden of love» το οποίο προσωπικά μου θύμισε κάτι από RUNNING WILD στην βασική του μελωδία. Το «Bull on a Parachute» σαν τίτλος περιγράφει αρκετά καλά τα βαριά riff που χαρακτηρίζουν την συγκεκριμένη σύνθεση, η οποία είναι βουτηγμένη στον ήχο των BLACK SABBATH. Στο «Snitches Get Stitches (I Smell a Rat)» το hard rock συναντάει το heavy metal.

Το “Abused In The Garden Of Love” έρχεται πιο αναρχικό και ταξιδιάρικο.

Το αγαπημένο μου από το άλμπουμ ήρθε και με βρήκε στο “Bull On A Parachute”.

“Snitches Get Stitches (I Smell A Rat)”…

“Motherfaster’s second album has the prestige of intoxicating music. It is riveting you and it succeeds to create so many images in your mind, that can be transcribed into a story.” – Noizy
